Answer

*Contents linked from this page might be in Japanese.

It will vary depending on 32bit or 64bit version of the installed DataSpider.

In 32bit version, the range can be specified from 1.4 GB ~ 1.6 GB.

*The application can use the memory up to a maximum of 4GB as per OS specification, but actually it would be the above mentioned value due to the environment factors such as over head of OS memory etc. Check the below information published in Oracle site for more details.

In 64bit version, there is no upper limit in the specification. Memory can be set only for the capacity that can be used. In past cases, the actual operation results are reported approximately up to 20GB.

*Notes
The upper limit mentioned above is only for the memory used by DataSpider Servista. Actually, there are cases where memory is also used by other applications such as security software etc. Hence, check the memory capacity that can be used, prior to the settings.

When it is not possible to secure the memory that is set in the maximum value, the service might get suspended. Therefore, specify the memory capacity that can be secured for sure.

When the available memory capacity fluctuates due to the time zone changes and when it is difficult to check, specify the same value to the initial value and to the maximum value for heap and thereby set to secure the heap memory immediately from start up.

Check the below help for the setting method of heap memory.
